Teams 365 #3392: How to present more powerfully

As someone who has spent years behind the scenes coaching others to present more powerfully, I thought it would be interesting to turn to Chat GPT to see what tips it had for creating more powerful presentations. It was great to see that several of my faves including watching for “Word fillers like UMS and AHS” made the list. Take a look at these tips from Chat GPT Effective presentation skills are essential in many aspects of our lives, from presenting to clients and colleagues at work to giving speeches at weddings or public events. If you want to improve your presentation skills, here are some tips to help you become a more effective presenter: Know your audience: Before you start preparing your presentation, take some time to research your audience. What are their interests? What are their needs? What do they expect to learn from your presentation? Knowing your audience will help you tailor your presentation to their specific needs. Structure your presentation: A well-structured presentation is easier for your audience to follow and understand. Start with an introduction that sets the context for your presentation, then move on to your main points, and finish with a clear conclusion that summarizes your key points. Use visual aids: Visual aids such as slides, charts, and diagrams can help make your presentation more engaging and easier to understand. But be careful not to overload your presentation with too many visual aids, which can be distracting. Practice, practice, practice: Practice your presentation several times before you deliver it. This will help you feel more confident and comfortable, and it will also help you identify areas where you may need to make improvements. Speak clearly and confidently: Speak slowly and clearly, and try to project your voice so that everyone in the audience can hear you. Avoid using filler words such as “um” and “uh”, which can detract from the impact of your message. Engage your audience: Engage your audience by asking questions, sharing stories, or using humor. Encourage participation and interaction to keep your audience engaged throughout your presentation. Be authentic: Finally, be yourself. Authenticity is key to building trust with your audience, and it will help you connect with them on a more personal level. Effective presentation skills take time and practice to develop, but with these tips, you can become a more confident and engaging presenter. Remember to know your audience, structure your presentation, use visual aids, practice, speak clearly and confidently, engage your audience, and be authentic. Good luck with your next presentation! #element-9b501f34-6b8c-4d6d-9fb8-52166402fbbf .callout-box-wrapper { padding: 20px 0px; word-wrap: break-word;}#element-9b501f34-6b8c-4d6d-9fb8-52166402fbbf .callout-box--standard { border: 1px solid #E0E0E0; background: #FAFAFA; padding: 20px 20px;}#element-9b501f34-6b8c-4d6d-9fb8-52166402fbbf .callout-box--material { border: 1px solid #E0E0E0; background: #FAFAFA; padding: 20px 20px; box-shadow: 0 0 20px rgba(0,0,0,0.15);}#element-9b501f34-6b8c-4d6d-9fb8-52166402fbbf .callout-base { border: 1px solid #E0E0E0; background: #FAFAFA; padding: 20px 20px;}#element-9b501f34-6b8c-4d6d-9fb8-52166402fbbf .material { box-shadow: 0 0 20px rgba(0,0,0,0.15);} Jennifer Britton Potentials Realized |Reconnecting Workspaces | Group Coaching Essentials  Team and Leadership Development  |  Coaching  |  Retreats Follow us on Instagram @ReconnectingWorkspaces Phone: (416)996-8326   Check out my TEDx talk Looking to bring your workplaces back together, whether you are remote, hybrid, or face-to-face?
