Tapestri App Review: Don’t Waste Your Time

Tapestri promises to pay you in cash for information you’re already giving away.
But does the app deliver?
Your mileage my vary, but my data didn’t turn out to be worth much at all.
In this review, I’ll break down:

How Tapestri works
How much you can realistically expect to earn with Tapestri
Better-paying alternatives to consider

Is Tapestri Legit?
First up, yes, Tapestri is a legit app and they do pay — but you’ll need to reach $65 in earnings before you can cash out.
At my current earning rate, it’ll take about 17 years to earn that much.
Tapestri pays via Stripe .
(Before the company greatly diminished the value of the app in 2023 — and greatly increased the minimum earnings to get paid — I was earning a few dollars every month and got paid consistently and automatically.)
How Tapestri Works
Tapestri pays you to share your data , securely and anonymously. This includes your:

location
driving habits
survey responses

The company argues you’re already giving much of that data away for free to big tech companies, so why not get paid for it?
Tapestri advertises 6 unique ways to earn, all within one app:

Set2Earn (share your location data 24/7)
Answer2Earn (take surveys)
Browse2Earn (let the app track your web sessions)
Tap2Earn (watch ads)
Drive2Earn (based on how many miles you drive)
Play2Earn (play games from advertising partners)

I’ll break each of those down in the next section.
How Much Can You Make with the Tapestri App?
I’m currently earning a whopping $0.01 to $0.03 per day with Tapestri.
How am I raking in so much cash? By letting them track my location 24/7.
Here’s how the various earning methods inside the Tapestri app shake out.
1. Set2Earn
This was the first feature Tapestri launched with, and honestly, it was much better a couple years ago. Just going about my life, I’d earn about $5 a month on autopilot, just for letting the app run in the background.
It felt like free money , and I was cool with that.
To enable Set2Earn, you have to set Location sharing to “Always” and toggle “Allow Tracking” on.

And in exchange, you’ll start to see your daily earnings add (slowly) up in the app:

In fairness, I work from home and don’t travel a ton most days. If you’re racking up more mileage around town, you’ll probably earn more here than me.
2. Answer2Earn
Under the Survey section of the app, you can theoretically earn extra cash by completing quick online surveys.
I say “theoretically” because when I checked, none were available:

Cue the sad trombone.
The good news is, if you like getting paid for your opinion , there are better survey app options. Here are some of Side Hustle Nation’s favorites:

Swagbucks – Earn up to $35 a survey with this mega-popular app, and get a $10 bonus  just for signing up!
Branded Surveys – One of the best-rated survey sites with millions paid out.
Survey Junkie – Earn up to $40 a month and cash out beginning at just $5.
InboxDollars  – Get a  $5 bonus just for signing up!
American Consumer Opinion – Join millions of free members and earn up to $50 per survey.
Pinecone Research  – Earn $3 for each 15-20 minute survey. They'll send you a $3 check after your first one.
YouGov  - Long-running survey panel, with data often cited in the media.

None of these will make you rich, but they are an easy way to make extra money in your spare time.
3. Browse2Earn
The only mention of Browse2Earn in the Tapestri app is under the Wallet section, where it shows $0 in earnings.

It’s unclear how to activate Browse2Earn or how to make money from it.
4. Tap2Earn
Similarly, Tap2Earn doesn’t seem to be active or enabled in my version of the app. I don’t see any option to tap anything in exchange for money.
5. Drive2Earn
Last month, I enabled Drive2Earn to test out the latest earning method from Tapestri.
Since then, the app has recorded zero trips and paid me zero dollars.

I’m not sure if the feature isn’t yet active in the app, or if some other bug is preventing it from tracking.
6. Play2Earn
According to the Wallet screen, you make money playing games with Play2Earn. Unfortunately, that’s the only mention of Play2Earn inside the Tapestri app.
So for those of you scoring at home, of the 6 advertised methods to make money with Tapestri, only one appears to be working (Set2Earn). And based on my current earnings, it’ll take over a decade to reach the requirement minimum payout threshold.
The app is buggy, confusing, and often broken. And I’ve waited over 2 years to write this review in the hopes it would get better.
It hasn’t.
Tapestri Alternatives
While Tapestri probably isn’t worth your time, thankfully there are several other money making apps that are a bit better.
Swagbucks
Swagbucks is a recognized leader in the online survey space. The long-running app has paid out hundreds of millions of dollars to users over the years.

You can earn rewards for shopping online, answering surveys, playing games, and watching videos (read: ads). Cash out for gift cards from major retailers.
Sign up through my referral link for a $10 bonus .
Caden
Caden  is one of my newest finds, and is earning me over  $10 a month  on autopilot

The app itself is a little slow and buggy, but may be worth those small headaches for some relatively easy passive income.
At press time, it was iOS only. Check out our full  Caden app review  to learn more.
Pogo
By sharing your location and credit card transaction data, Pogo gives you points that you can cash out to PayPal or Venmo.

Just enable location tracking and link your bank account credentials when you sign up.
You’ll start to receive location-based rewards as you drive around town, and other points for your credit card spending. Based on my results so far, I expect Pogo to be worth around  $5-20 a year.

Cashwalk
Another way to get paid for your data is with Cashwalk . The Cashwalk app pays you to walk by turning your step activity into gift cards, with power users earning $5 every 4-5 weeks, or around $50 a year.

The only drawback is you have to open the app every day to claim your coins. (That’s how they get you to look at the ads that pay for your gift cards!)
