Pakistan inaugurates direct flights to Jeddah for Hajj season

May 25, 2024 (MLN):  Pakistan has commenced direct flight operation to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, for the upcoming Hajj pilgrimage on Friday.
Two flights from Karachi and Islamabad respectively arrived in Jeddah today, carrying a total of 720 Pakistani pilgrims.
Officials from the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony and the Saudi government received the pilgrims at Jeddah airport.
The pilgrims were facilitated through the Makkah route initiative, enabling them to avoid long queues at immigration counters.
They were transported to their hotels by comfortable buses and their luggage was transferred to their residences by a porters company.
A total of 34,316 Pakistani pilgrims have already reached Medinah, while 114 flights will carry another 34,422 pilgrims to Jeddah till June 9, 2024.
The launch of direct flights from Pakistan to Jeddah marks a significant milestone in the Hajj 2024 preparations.
