International Business Courses — Constantly Evolving Given the geopolitical upheaval, technological advancements, and regulatory innovations in the ever-changing world of global business, our IB faculty work continually to ensure that students have cutting-edge knowledge and skills. This means integrating new information into existing courses to keep them current and designing courses that help students develop new skill sets. Recent years have witnessed the introduction of several new courses within the IB program, reflecting the latest trends and challenges in the global business environment. Courses such as “Global Value Chains” delve into the intricacies of supply chain management, enabling students to understand how firms organize international production, trade, and investments across multiple countries. “International Accounting and Transfer Pricing” equips students with highly valued skills in navigating the intricate world of global tax regulations and creative pricing strategies between subsidiaries. The “Global Regulatory Strategy” course prepares students to navigate the diverse and constantly changing regulatory environments worldwide. “Introduction to Global Finance and Business” provides a comprehensive understanding of international finance operations, decision-making processes, and risk management strategies. The “Global Trade & Principles of Import/Export” course, taught abroad, offers students practical exposure to the fundamentals of importing and exporting, including the development of a basic U.S. export plan. “Global Net Zero Strategy” equips students with the necessary skills to develop and implement climate change strategies, aligning with the growing emphasis on sustainability and reducing global greenhouse gas emissions. IB faculty work to expose students to the strategies, structures, and challenges associated with international business in the 21st Century. The curriculum explores the intricacies of managing businesses in diverse cultural, economic, and regulatory environments, and constantly refreshes information on the core functions of business as they are conducted across regional, national, and cultural borders. Fall 2024 will see two new faculty members join our cohort, Dr. Jacob Bradt and Dr. Robert Carroll. Looking ahead, the Fall 2024 semester will see the addition of two new faculty members, Dr. Jacob Bradt and Dr. Robert Carroll, further strengthening the cohort and fostering ongoing innovation in the IB program.
