CGB Celebrates with Alumni and Friends

On April 6, the Center for Global Business celebrated friendships and accomplishments at its first Celebration and Appreciation Dinner . Attendees included advisory board members and their guests, distinguished global alumni, and outstanding students. The dinner, held in the beautiful McCombs Legacy Room, was an opportunity for CGB to share its successes and thank current supporters, make new friends, and welcome recent graduates back to campus. Pictured Left to Right: Quinn Roselius (International Business Major & Class of 2025), Harry Jordan (Client Executive, Unisys & Class of 1995), Austin Cruz (Senior Business Resilience Consultant at Witt O’Briens & Class of 2019) and Rodney Baltierra, Jr. (International Business Major & Class of 2023) During the dinner, alumni reminisced about life on campus, learned about the center and its mission, and gained inspiration from current students. Students networked with recent graduates as well as seasoned global leaders and gained insight about entering the global workforce. And newly minted IB grads learned about developments in the international business program since their departure. IB students, alumni, and friends all enjoyed a lively conversation over dinner. Announcements by CGB Board of Advisors Chair Raj Mahale highlighted center accomplishments including growth in the number of students studying international business, enhanced student services, a new scholarship program to facilitate education abroad, and a major financial gift to the program. The most important thing, according to Mahale, was community. Bringing its most important constituencies together around a shared love of global connection is a source of learning and vitality for everyone, so CGB is planning to host similar events in the future.
