Who is a woman who inspires you and why?
Throughout the years I have worked for many great companies and many great HR leaders, but when I joined HRchitect I came across a special person who has been the most inspiring woman I have worked with.
I have worked in payroll since 2008 and after going back to school to receive my college degree in Human Resources I held multiple positions such as Corporate Payroll Manager and HR Director, but felt something was missing. Before joining HRchitect in 2019 I was not feeling truly fulfilled and had been questioning myself about the direction of my life and my career. I did not just want another “job”. I wanted to be recognized not only for my knowledge, efforts, and hard work but desired to be part of a company that I truly felt passionate about, and who valued me as a person and for my abilities. While attending my first in-person work event I had the chance to work alongside one of my new managers, a pleasant blonde woman named Erica Niesse who was a Practice Director at the time. Her infectious smile instantly made me feel that I belonged and that I made the right decision to join HRchitect.
Marcy and Erica enjoyed attending the Leadership Consulting team meeting in Frisco, Texas in March 2024.
As time went on, Erica was promoted to VP, of Implementation Services, and in April 2022 to EVP, of Implementation Services. She worked her way to the top through hard work and determination. During this time I had the opportunity to work very closely with Erica learning everything I could. This is when it clicked for me, that with her guidance and mentorship, she inspired me to want to do the same. Her vision for the company was unlike anything I had seen before. As I worked diligently on all my projects, earned many certifications, and supported my peers to make sure our clients and partners received the very best service I finally reached a place of fulfillment and passion. Honestly, for the first time, I came to truly love my chosen career path.
Erica’s unwavering guidance and mentorship throughout my 5-year career at HRchitect has encouraged me not only in my professional life but also in my personal life. She instills excitement within our team about the future growth and direction of HRchitect consistently amazing me and inspiring me every day. She not only has been my confidant as we build our incredible practices and relationships with our partners and clients but most importantly a beacon in my personal development.
Today, on Women in Tech Day , I want to personally “thank” Erica for reigniting my passion for my career and truly making a difference in me.
